Here’s a beautiful makeover and comments from Todra Payne, Celebrity Makeup Artist and founder of The Healthy Beauty Project.  She has used one of our green eyeshadow shades for Spring colors:

Green is the color of spring – not just in gardens, but on eye lids this season. Green eye shadow is to eyes what coral gloss is to lips. So we decided to show you the real world way to wear green. Sometimes (well, most times) runway beauty looks don’t translate well “on the street”.

Not so with green eye shadow. And another bonus? It looks amazing on brown eyes.

Elivi is wearing Lauren Brooke Cosmetique’s Deep Emerald matte mineral eye shadow on the lid with Diamonds sparkle shadow as a highlighter under the brow and in the inner corners of her eye. Notice the soft blush color and the light coral lips? Perfect combination for spring.

You’ve got the good stuff, now how do you use it?

Here are some great tips for using Lauren Brooke Creme Foundation:

1)  A foundation brush, cosmetic wedge, or just clean fingertips can be used to apply the foundation.  When applying, use upward and outward strokes to avoid stretching or pulling the skin.  This will help reduce the potential for future wrinkles – nice!

2)  The foundation has been created in such a way that you can control the amount of coverage desired by increasing or decreasing the amount of Creme applied.  The less  Creme that is used, the lighter the coverage will be, the more Foundation that is used, the greater the coverage will be.  If even more coverage is desired, you can use either Creme Concealer underneath, or Silk Veil / Powder Foundation over the Creme.

3)   If your skin tends to be more  oily, using Lauren Brooke Finishing Powder over the Creme will help to absorb any excess oils and give a more matte look.

Using these tips will give you a natural, beautiful look with gorgeous coverage!

One of the first things people look at is your eyes.   With the right kind of colors, shades and shadow application, your eyes can become a beautiful ‘centerpiece’ for the face.

One of the keys to beautiful, long lasting eye color is to apply a base color.  This not only helps to set the eyeshadow colors so they last longer, but it also helps to create an even eyelid tone before adding color.  This step is most helpful for women who have deep set eyes or darker colors or shadowing on the lids.  The base powder should be very light in color, like natural eyeshadow Sunglow or Vanilla Creme in the Lauren Brooke Eyeshadow collection, in order to lighten darker lid coloring or shadowy areas.   These lighter colors will also create a larger, more open look to the eyes.

Add some cool holographic shimmer with the newest colour in Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques‘ Mystic Series.

Mystic Ice looks white in the jar, but when brushed on the eyelids, the color shifts from turquoise to blue and violet.   It works beautifully alone on darker skin tones or can be applied over darker contour colors for women with lighter skin tones as well.  Try applying with a wet Eyeliner Brush around your eyes for even more dramatic effects!

Kendra is wearing ‘Sunglow’ Eye Base with ‘Eggplant’ as a contour color in the outer crease area.  For Eyeliner we used an Eyeliner brush and applied ‘Eggplant’ along the bottom of the eyelid and ‘Mystic Tawna’ above it, both wet, as Eyeliners.  To finish, we added Mystic Tawna over the entire eyelid for the color-shifting, holographic effect.

Mineral Makeup can be quick and easy to apply, but sometimes too much powder can get into the top of the jar and spill, making it hard to control.

Here’s a quick tip to help manage the mess:

1) When you first open the jar, keep the sifter sticker on (If sticker has already been removed, clean the sifter and cover holes with a small strip of tape).

2) Get pin or thumbtack and push tip through several of the sifter holes.

3) To apply your makeup, turn the jar upside down (with the lid still on).  Tap it a few times on the counter to get a small amount through the holes.

When you open the lid there will be smaller, more manageable amounts in the lid to use.   If you want more powder to come out each time, simply add more holes!
