Green in Spring
Here’s a beautiful makeover and comments from Todra Payne, Celebrity Makeup Artist and founder of The Healthy Beauty Project. She has used one of our green eyeshadow shades for Spring colors:
Green is the color of spring – not just in gardens, but on eye lids this season. Green eye shadow is to eyes what coral gloss is to lips. So we decided to show you the real world way to wear green. Sometimes (well, most times) runway beauty looks don’t translate well “on the street”.
Not so with green eye shadow. And another bonus? It looks amazing on brown eyes.
Elivi is wearing Lauren Brooke Cosmetique’s Deep Emerald matte mineral eye shadow on the lid with Diamonds sparkle shadow as a highlighter under the brow and in the inner corners of her eye. Notice the soft blush color and the light coral lips? Perfect combination for spring.
When you try greens, don’t be afraid to experiment with various shades and textures.

Dustless Powder Applications

There has been a lot of talk lately about the possible respiratory concerns from powder makeup.
When using powder foundations there are 4 key items to be aware of:
1) Ingredients
1) Particle size
2) Binding agents
2) Application techniques
Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques has been aware of these concerns, and because of their commitment to creating safe and healthy cosmetics for women, have designed their Foundation Powders specifically with these four points and your health in mind!
First, their powders have been formulated with NO titanium dioxide because test results have found this ingredient to have possible links to respiratory cancers. Second, they use NO nano-sized particles in any of their powders because these particles are small enough to be transferred through the skin as well as on a cellular level, especially when inhaled. Third, Organic Jojoba Oil is infused into their powders to help bind loose particles together and create a ‘weightier’ powder, which keeps it on the applicator and face, instead of floating in the air for possible inhalation. Lastly, each powder container contains a deluxe satin puff. These puffs can be used to wipe the powder on the face, instead of using a brush, which tends to create more dust when applying. After applying the powder with the puff, then a Kabuki or Powder brush can be used to create a smooth, finished look.
Integrating the healthiest ingredients, larger particle sizes, plant-based organic binding agents, and dustless application tools and techniques into a powder makes Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Foundation Powders the healthiest powders available for you and your overall health!
Ageless Eyes
As the years creep by, the first areas of the skin to be affected seem to be around the eyes. Here’s some tips to keep those fine lines from showing your true age.
1) Be as gentle as possible. Don’t pull, stretch, or tug the skin around the eyes.
2) When removing makeup or rubbing the eyes go from the outer eye area towards the center. This will prevent the inner delicate skin from being stretched and pulled.
3) When removing mascara, apply Eye Makeup Remover to two Q-tips and slide lashes between cotton swabs. This allows you to take the mascara off the lashes while avoiding the normal ‘racoon eyes’ that happens when rubbing it off the lashes and onto the eye area.
4) Apply a natural eye cream or Organic Facial Serum around eyes every morning and evening.
Powder Makeup
Mineral Makeup can be quick and easy to apply, but sometimes too much powder can get into the top of the jar and spill, making it hard to control.
Here’s a quick tip to help manage the mess:
1) When you first open the jar, keep the sifter sticker on (If sticker has already been removed, clean the sifter and cover holes with a small strip of tape).
2) Get pin or thumbtack and push tip through several of the sifter holes.
3) To apply your makeup, turn the jar upside down (with the lid still on). Tap it a few times on the counter to get a small amount through the holes.
When you open the lid there will be smaller, more manageable amounts in the lid to use. If you want more powder to come out each time, simply add more holes!
Don’t Let People Think You’re Wasting Away
Women with pale skin can sometimes come across as sickly-looking. Put on some cheek color to minimize the whiteness. Cheek colors come in various beautiful shades you will delight experimenting with.
Apply these to:
~ Add depth and color to your face
~ Subtly contour your cheekbones
~ Compliment your facial features
~ Give you a more radiant look
Colors For Your Eyes
Lets face it ladies—different complexions and eye colors call for different makeup techniques. Maybe you have brown eyes and have been rocking that electric-blue eye shadow since it was popular in the 1980s and you yearn for something new. Or, maybe you are just anxious to try a color combination that brings out your natural eye colour. Either way the best way to learn what colors work best on you is to understand the color wheel.
Here is what the “color wheel” advises for applying makeup to different eye colors:
~Green eyes: Purples, pinks and reds
~Blue eyes: Oranges, coppers and golds
~Hazel eyes: Warm tones, bronzes and greens
~Brown eyes: Browns, bronzes and greens
~Gray eyes: Grays, cool tones and browns
